Beachparty
Manuel Resch and Maximilian Maria Willeit
Beachparty
Maximilian Maria Willeit and Manuel Resch have been working together as a duo since 2016. This has given them a different perspective and greater objectivity towards their creations. In actual practice, this means that they reconsider and revise their works from several different angles, and that their ideas have a different rhythm and a different depth. This results in works that don't necessarily correspond to the expectations and assumptions of the individual team member, and which therefore invigorate and enrich them as artists.
With "Beachparty," Maximilian Maria Willeit and Manuel Resch present their new works for the first time in a solo exhibition.
The works shown employ new media in their attempt to explore the limits of painting. The concept of painting is re-evaluated in order to pose new questions, address new problems, and find contemporary artistic/technical solutions. By means of the interplay of technical/digital and analog/artistic approaches, they attempt to achieve new esthetic values appropriate to the times in which we live.
The exhibition's leitmotiv consists of digitally animated bodies located in a room that seems familiar to us. They break with our perception of reality: At first glance, they seem real, but a moment later one realizes that they are digital symbioses of artificial and natural components.
The exhibition will be opened on February 15, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Galerie Prisma in Bozen / Bolzano and will remain open to the public until March 8, 2019.
