Nature is changing. All the time. Across large areas and in detail. From one season to the next. Over the centuries. Lately, we have been able to witness these changes with the naked eye. This was also what the artist Nora Gutwenger realised when she moved back to the Puster Valley from Vienna recently. Instead of the wooded alpine landscape she was used to, she is now surrounded by bare mountain slopes. Who changed nature? The bark beetle? Or are humans at the origin of this transformation? What characterises a near-natural forest? In Angelika Wischermann's work, it is the artist herself who changes nature. In contrast to most human interventions, however, she proceeds very cautiously. For a long time, Wischermann observes the branched network of paths of a forest ant colony before realising her infrastructure project in the form of small adjustments to make life easier for the insects. In the exhibition space, the artistic research processes can be experienced in drawings, textile works and a video. In addition, you are cordially invited to delve deeper into the topic in a reading corner set up in co-operation with the public library of Brixen.
As part of the exhibition, another work by Angelika Wischermann will be on display at the Arthotel Lasserhaus.
